How to get your bedroom winter ready!

We can’t deny that winter is well and truly here! If you’re like us you’re going to be waking up in the dark and getting back home in the dark, and it can get slightly depressing. However, coming home to somewhere warm, homely and cosy is what we all want and that’s what this blog is all about, making your fitted bedroom as comfortable and as ready for winter as possible.

  • Bedding

This is one of the easiest ways to add a feeling of warmth and cosiness to a room! Why not choose a jersey knit or teddy material bedding instead of the usual cotton? Extra blankets are always a good option and they give you the freedom to add more or even kick them off if you get too hot. If you’re getting a new duvet with a higher tog, why not upgrade your pillows as well? Down pillows (pillows filled with goose/duck feathers) are softer and fluffier than your standard pillow.

  • Lighting

Since it’s getting darker earlier, you might want to think about additional lighting. You don’t want to be constantly using your main light, especially first thing in the morning. So why not invest in a bedside lamp or maybe a dimmer switch for some low key lighting? String lights are more visual than practical but add a touch of relaxation.

  • Accessories

Dark colours create a feeling of warmth and if you wanted to make a more significant change to your room you could paint the walls. However, if you want something less permanent, tapestries, paintings and pictures are perfect for any seasonal room changes.
